Tiger Woods Sets Plans for a Private Golf Destination With Member Cottages on Long Island’s Gold Coast
Golf legend Tiger Woods is heading up a new private golf destination on the North Shore of Long Island in Brookville, NY.
In collaboration with private golf club and lifestyle company the Armchair Collective and TGR Design, the 11-time PGA Player of the Year recipient will redevelop the former Tam O'Shanter Country Club, which was shuttered in 2021, according to Golf Course Architecture.
The project will feature a brand-new 18-hole course with practice facilities, a performance center, a clubhouse, and private member cottages.
"The opportunity to create a new golf experience in the heart of Long Island's Gold Coast, a region steeped in rich history, is tremendously exciting for our team," Woods said.
The golfer explained the location's significance, citing the "great memories" he has from competing in the area, "especially at Bethpage."

"This region has an extraordinary golf course architecture tradition, and we look forward to contributing to that legacy with a course that players can ejoy for generations," he continued.
While fans will have to wait until the beginning of 2027 for the name and conceptual renderings to be revealed, work is already underway. Demolition has begun, and construction is slated to begin next year.
"Bringing Tiger Woods and TGR Design to this beautiful and historic part of Long Island is a remarkable opportunity," said Brookville Mayor Dan Serota. "Combining the Gold Coast's longstanding golf tradition with Tiger and his team's skill and attention to detail makes this an exciting project for Brookville and the broader region."
In October, another Woods-spearheaded project was announced. The golfer is part of a luxury residential golf community in Fort Worth, TX, called Bluejack Ranch.
The $2.5 billion community and private club is a 914-acre resort-style development. The community will feature 500 custom and semicustom homes, ranging in size from 1,282 square feet to sprawling mansions spanning more than 19,000 square feet.

Pricing begins at $775,000 for half-acre lots to build on, whereas residential products begin at $1 million and average between $2 million and $4 million.
"You live on 900 acres with every form of entertainment imaginable," developer Andy Mitchell tells Realtor.com®. "You don't need a big home, necessarily. It's like going to a resort, you don't have to build your own game room."
Bluejack Ranch is Woods' second project of this nature and is the followup to his first, Bluejack National in Montgomery, TX.
When it comes to his own private residence, Woods is no stranger to exclusive community living. He currently resides in a $60 million Jupiter Island waterfront estate.
Woods purchased the 12-acre plot—which overlooks the Indian River—for $40 million in 2006. He razed the existing residence to build his own custom 9,700-square-fooot megamansion.
In addition to the striking structure, the estate includes a sizable swimming pool and a separate lap pool, a tennis court, a running track, and, of course, a private golf course.
